Automobiles, Up Spinoff Collection involves Disney Plus from Pixar

One of the more exciting elements of today’s Disney Investor Day presentation was from Pete Docter, Director of the upcoming (and deeply brilliant) soul and Pixar’s chief creative officer, who spoke about several upcoming projects for the acclaimed animation studio, including several new feature films (all of them Hail) Light year!) and some exciting new projects like three new series on Disney +; Two matching pre-existing Pixar franchises and the other is a brand new insane Pixar concept that sounds really cool and charming.

The first series, which will appear in autumn 2021, is Days dug. A follow up to Docter’s AboveDirected by Up Co-director and director of the genius Forky asks a question Disney + series Bob Peterson, Dug Days follows any favorite speaking dog Dug (voiced by Peterson) who “discovers the dangers of suburbs like puppies, fireworks, and squirrels.” Docter played a short clip in which Dug spotted a litter of puppies who look cute and adorable at first and then start biting Dug and making his life miserable. (You can hear in the clip Ed Asner Repeat his role as Carl Fredericksen.) It looks very charming and is the perfect sequel to a film that seemingly defied a sequel or spin-off. Full transparency: if Alpha doesn’t show up, we’re causing a riot. Dug Days premiered on Disney + in Fall 2021.

Also on the program for Disney + is a new series that takes place in the world of cars. The untitled series follows “Lightning McQueen and Mater on a country road trip”. The series, featuring old and new characters, will debut on Disney + in the fall of 2022.

And the last new series announced (and this is Pixar’s first “long form” series, where each episode is about 20 minutes) is called Win or lose. This new series “follows a middle school softball team the week before their championship game,” with each episode narrated from a different character’s perspective. It’s a really cool concept and it feels very Pixar. Win or Lose will premiere on Disney + in Fall 2023.
