Christopher Nolan of the Darkish Knight responds to Tom Hardy who claims Bane depends on the director

Anyone familiar with traditional depictions of Bane knows that The Dark Knight Rises has robbed the character of some creative freedoms, from wearing this mask to soothe the excruciating pain he was constantly dealing with, to his own Excommunication in the League of Shadows. With such changes, Tom Hardy’s Curse had to be influenced by unexpected sources. While Christopher Nolan says he didn’t intentionally add some of his own traits to this version of the character, he conceded that, as with previous characters, this could have been inadvertently on his part and also through an individual choice of the actor.
