Here’s what HBO Max is leaving in May 2021

Maybe it’s just because HBO Max currently has one of the largest, highest quality libraries available on streaming right now, but gosh, there are still a lot of great movies coming out in May. Of course, the big title “Check it out while you can” is the new one Mortal Kombat Movie which will be available in streaming for a limited one month period as one of Warner Bros. major daily and date releases on HBO Max. So if you want to see this one, you have to see it by May 23rd. After that, it can only be seen in cinemas for the time being.

Some other notable highlights are Paul Thomas Andersonis a beautiful, cheerfully barbed Oscar winner Phantom thread, the absolutely delightful continuation of the conjuring verse Annabelle comes home, Dirty dancing and its underrated feel-good sequel Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, both Cruel intentions and the 1988 adaptation of Dangerous romances – depending on how you take your sexy opera thriller, two X-Men Movies and the whole The matrix Trilogy.

There are quite a few classics phasing out in May too, including West Side Story, The seekers, The thin man, jaw (and Jaws 2 if you like that), You can’t take it with you, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? – As I said, there is a lot. The details of what is leaving HBO and HBO Max this month can be found in the list below.
