Saturday Night Live is officially back. Fresh from the series’ Primetime Emmy wins for season 45, season 46 of NBC’s late night sketch comedy series, which premiered on Saturday, October 3, in its usual 11: 30-10: 30c time slot . The show also made a great return to Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center.

The new season of Saturday Night Live begins with six consecutive shows – beginning with the premiere on October 3rd through at least November 7th, a week after the presidential election – and has a limited audience. Several new faces in the cast made their SNL debut in the premiere – including Lauren Holt, Punkie Johnson and Andrew Dismukes – as well as guest actor Jim Carrey, who portrayed former Vice President Joe Biden.

When is SNL broadcast?

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. on NBC. The weekly episodes can be streamed the next day on Hulu and will also be available on NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, Peacock.

Who is in the cast of SNL Season 46?

All SNL season 45 cast members – including Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Beck Bennett, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Chris Redd, Cecily Strong and Melissa Villaseñor, and featured players Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang and the two presenters of “Weekend Update”, Michael Che and Colin Jost, are back on the cast list for season 46. Vulture also reports that cast member Ego Nwodim has been promoted from featured player to repertoire player.

SNL also added three new players: comic book actress and singer Lauren Holt of the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles; Comedian and writer Punkie Johnson and Andrew Dismukes, an SNL employee since season 43. Another big change: Writer / comedian Anna Drezen will join Michael Che, Colin Jost and Kent Sublette as co-head writer.

In the meantime, some changes have also been made to the regular guest star list. None other than Jim Carrey came up as a guest actor to play Joe Biden. Following her Emmy win as a guest star on Saturday Night Live’s 45th season, Maya Rudolph returned in season 46 to portray current vice-presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris. Rudolph was one of several celebrity guests portraying political figures during the sketches of SNL’s Democratic Debate, and she caught the California senator’s attention for her work on at least one sketch. Alec Baldwin also returned as Donald Trump in the premiere.

Dave Chappelle will host on November 7th. Chris Rock, Bill Burr, Issa Rae, Adele and John Mulaney were the first five hosts of the season.
