Miami nightclub E11even will accept cryptocurrency as payment when it reopens in April
It’s safe to say that the world has changed since we were all locked up last year when COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. Many of the changes are already in place and many more are pending, but so many industries and processes have adapted and updated as everyone has been stuck at home for over a year (now) and that could be both good and bad.
Although Bitcoin was popular before the pandemic, its widespread use has increased as the preference for physical money waned over the past year. Its influence has spread so widely that the now popular Miami’s E11even nightclub will accept cryptocurrency as payment when it reopens in April.
“We think it’s an appropriate time,” said Gino LoPinto, E11even operational partner. “Crypto is growing so fast right now and we are now ready for a major reopening.
Users can use crypto by creating an invoice for a booking. Once they have secured the service such as bottles and / or tables, they are given a QR code that can be scanned to pay the bill with a crypto wallet. Those who are already in the nightclub can also pay with crypto if they wish.
E11even is one of the top-selling nightclubs in Florida, and the addition of cryptocurrency to the list of accepted payments should further strengthen that position. The move is backed by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who appears to be aiming to turn the city into a “source of clean bitcoin mining,” reports the Biz Journal.
The club will accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, and Dogecoin when the venue reopens on April 23rd.
