Nation singer Lee Brice is out of the CMA Awards after testing constructive for coronavirus
Lee Brice won’t appear at the 2020 CMA Awards after all.
The 41-year-old singer tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Associated Press (via Variety). Variety reported that a representative from the artist’s AP on Sunday November 8th said Brice was “in a good mood and having no symptoms”.
Additionally, Variety noted that a CMA spokesperson told AP Brice that he had been tested and received his results before coming to Nashville for rehearsals or award-related activities. According to Variety, Brice’s rep told the AP that the “Hard to Love” star will be isolating at home until he gets approval from his doctor.
“Lee would like to thank the CMAs and all of their incredible fans for his nominations, and wishes his nominees an amazing evening celebrating the best in country music,” said his AP representative per Variety.
Brice should take the stage with him Carly Pearce. Both singers are nominated in the Music Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year categories for their hit “I Hope You’re Happy Now”, which peaked at No. 1. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in June.
