Netflix’s Sweet Tooth is about to go wild.

The eight-episode DC Comics adaptation will be fully released on Friday June 4th and can be previewed via the streamer’s new trailer (embedded above). The cast, produced by Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, includes Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) and James Brolin (Life in Pieces) as the voice of the narrator.

“Nobody knew which came first, the hybrids or the virus,” says Brolin in the clip. “But that question would become the greatest puzzle of our lives.” The trailer then shows glimpses of the title character on the run when he is tracked down by murderous hunters who want to eliminate all hybrids.

Sweet Tooth is described as “the engaging, family-friendly storybook adventure of Gus (Pup Academy and Legion’s Christian Convery) – part stag, part boy – who leaves his home in the woods to find the outside world devastated by a disastrous event,” According to the official synopsis. “He joins a ragged family of hybrids of human and animal children like himself to find answers to this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.” The ensemble also consists of Nonso Anozie (Zoo) and Adeel Akhtar (Ghosted).

Beth Schwartz (arrow) is on board as executive producer / writer / co-showrunner alongside writer / co-showrunner / director Jim Mickle (Hap and Leonard).
