Pose’s Mj Rodriguez stars in the Apple Comedy series with Maya Rudolph


A pose diva has already planned her next act: Mj Rodriguez will be seen alongside Maya Rudolph in an upcoming comedy series for Apple TV +announced the streamer on Friday.

The untitled comedy revolves around Molly, played by Rudolph, a woman whose husband, according to the official description, leaves her “only $ 87 billion.” (The series was first announced in March.) Rodriguez will play Sofia, “the hard-working executive director of the nonprofit funded by her absent billionaire boss Molly.”

Alan Yang (Master of None) and Matt Hubbard (Forever) are serving as co-creators and writers on the project, as well as executive producers. Rudolph is also an EP on the series.

Rodriguez currently plays as housemother Blanca in the FX drama Pose, which debuted in 2018 and airs its third and final season. (The series finale is slated for Sunday, June 6th.) The actress received a Critics’ Choice Award nomination for the role, and Pose won a Peabody and two GLAAD Awards and an Emmy for lead actor Billy Porter. Rodriguez’s other TV credits include Nurse Jackie and Marvel’s Luke Cage.
