Powerpuff vividly casts Robyn as Miss Bellum, and Tom Kenny returns to tell the CW’s live-action pilots

The powerpuff of the CW finally gives a name a face.

The legendary Teen Witch star and half-sister of Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively, Robyn Lively will portray Sara Bellum in the network’s live-action pilot, our sister site Deadline reports. As fans of the original Powerpuff Girls cartoon will remember, Miss Bellum was the mayor’s right-wing wife, even though we never really got to see her face.

Powerpuff’s version of Miss Bellum is “a warm and funny career woman with a complicated romantic story [Professor Utonium]. She is always a friend of the Powerpuff Girls and has been around them since she was a child. “

Additionally, Tom Kenny, who narrated the original animated series as well as the 2016 restart, will return as the narrator of this new iteration.

Lively and Kenny join previously announced cast members Chloe Bennet (Blossom Utonium), Dove Cameron (Bubbles Utonium), Yana Perrault (Buttercup Utonium), Nicholas Podany (Joseph “Jojo” Mondel Jr.) and Donald Faison (Professor Utonium).

Powerpuff, written by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier, leaps forward in time to present the former rescuers of Townsville as “disaffected twenty-year-olds who refuse to lose their childhoods to fighting crime. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever? “
