Ryan Phillippe thought his mother and father would “deny” him after merciless intent

Twenty years after its debut, Cruel Intentions still has a huge fan base and is believed to have helped several viewers, including Demi Lovato, Realize that they were strange.

However, the teen love film was rated R and Star in 1999 Ryan Phillippe I wasn’t sure if his parents would love the movie as much as the fans.

Ryan spoke to Barstool Sports’ KFC Radio on Tuesday, November 17th, announcing that he feared his parents would deny him after his role on Cruel Intentions.

He was asked if the storyline of two teenagers making a sex bet felt “normal” at the time. Ryan replied, “No, and you know I thought my parents were going to deny me.”

The crash actor, who was 23 when he made the film, said it wasn’t the first time his parents disapproved of his work.

He had grown up in a religious school but portrayed revolutionary LGBTQ characters on screen. “My first role in Christian school when I was in high school was the first gay character on a soap opera, the first gay teenager ever,” Ryan continued.
