Sam Neill Marks ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ movie wrap with a suicide notice
Jurassic Park alum Sam Neill has officially said goodbye Jurassic World: Dominion after a roller coaster ride at a shoot. Neill’s return was one of the biggest highlights of Dominion’s nine month shoot, with the return of fellow Jurassic Park colleagues Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum count as two more. Neill stayed active on social media while on set for Dominion, frequently partnering with Dern and Goldblum to post nostalgic content for fans to enjoy without spoiling the upcoming Jurassic World Threequel. In between scenes, Neill took the time to announce he was posting things like a Dominion set photo with a nostalgic prop and paying tribute to Jurassic Park alum Richard Attenboroughand even recreate a memorable scene from the 1993 film with Goldblum.
On Sunday, Neill ended his Dominion social media series through a retweeting director Colin TrevorrowThe wrap photo will be filmed and its own goodbye message added. Neill shared, “There were days when we thought we couldn’t make it. But we did … we did what seemed next to impossible. Great crew. Nice cast. Top director. Poof and CELEBRATE. “
Neill’s words are a reminder that the Dominion shoot was anything but easy. Production had some breaks in filming as it dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a short break in early 2020. Production resumed in July 2020 and numerous health precautions have been taken to ensure that all cast and crew members can safely work on Dominion. Trevorrow later announced in early October that production would have to be halted again after some more positive COVID-19 tests surfaced. These production breaks add to what was certainly an intense, epic shoot to bring another dinosaur company to life, the fruits of which we will finally see in the form of a trailer that will hopefully drop soon after some footage is in the can .
Jurassic World: Dominion is slated for release on June 10, 2022. See Sam Neill’s farewell tweet below. For more information, check out our in-depth interview with Jurassic World: Dominion star Mamoudou Athie.
