Selena Gomez accuses Fb and Instagram of “tolerating this hatred” seen on social media

Selena Gomez stays fed up with some content she recently saw on social media.

The star shared her concern on Twitter on Wednesday, December 2, by posting a post from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a London-based nonprofit that focuses on lobbying tech firms to get users eliminate who disseminate content they perceive to be harmful.

The CCDH’s November 23 tweet included a series of accounts the group referred to as “selling racist products on Facebook and Instagram”. The message went on: “Facebook left these pages online even though they were informed about it 3 days ago. @Facebook, please remove this neo-Nazi network completely now.”

This prompted Selena to respond, “I’m speechless. @Facebook @Instagram How do you tolerate this hatred? There are still accounts even though you’ve been notified !!”

E! The news asked Facebook and Instagram for a comment.

This is not the first time the UNICEF Ambassador has expressed her anger over the social media landscape. In September, she went to her Instagram story to share a DM she’d sent to Facebook managers Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg.
