In a press release, Antonoff said:

I am from a strange place. I want to understand and why I sound that way. why all the hope and pain that the new jersey brings is so present with me. how we hug the city How we are so close but light years away live in this great shadow. a punch line for some, Zion for others.

Jack Antonoff released Chinatown (with Bruce Springsteen) and 45 last week. He is preparing his third Bleachers album for a release in 2021.
