The TV show by Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia premieres, watch the trailer
As early as 2018, it was reported that Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia were developing a TV series based on Virginia Grohl’s 2017 book From Cradle to Stage. This show now has a premiere date: The first episode of From Cradle to Stage will air on Paramount + on Thursday May 6th. Check out a teaser for the series below.
Guests on the series include Pharrell and his mother Dr. Carolyn Williams, Miranda and Bev Lambert, Brandi and Teresa Carlile, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and his mother Mary, and Rush ‘Geddy Lee with his mother Mary Weinrib. The six episodes of Cradle to Stage – by Live Nation Productions in conjunction with Endeavor Content – are staged by Dave Grohl.
The series was inspired by (and named after him) Virgina Grohl’s book. “I believe that the relationship between a musician and his mother is so important because it is the basis for their understanding of love, which is certainly the greatest muse of any artist,” said Dave Grohl in a press release about the series. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed light on the music that inspired them, but also made me appreciate the love I had from my own mother, mine best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who gave us life. Because without it there would be no music. “
Grohl recently released a trailer for his upcoming film about tours and vans called What Drives Us. Last week he teamed up with Mick Jagger for their new single, “Eazy Sleazy”.
