The Woman in the Window Trailer: Amy Adams Discovers Shocking Secrets In Netflix Thriller

We have a brand new trailer for The woman in the window. The thriller starring Amy Adams (Justice League, American Hustle) has been delayed for a while but is finally getting released thanks to the folks at Netflix. On paper, this film has a lot going for it, from an A-list to the prestigious Joe Wright (Darkest Hour, Atonement) behind the camera. Netflix spiced up the ball with the words, “Shocking secrets are revealed and nothing and no one is what they seem in this suspenseful psychological thriller.”

The trailer begins with the introduction of Amy Adams’ character Anna, who is agoraphobic and cannot leave her home. She’s gotten into a dark mood lately. Anna seems to find solace in spying on her neighbors. However, one night that takes a dark turn. As a result, things get confusing. The lines between reality and fiction become blurred for both her and the audience. No doubt there are some old school Alfred Hitchcock vibes here. Look specifically at something like the rear window. It remains to be seen whether the new admissions and retooling were able to resolve the alleged problems encountered during test screenings.

This one has a long, complicated history. The film was originally shot at 20th Century Fox and produced prior to the Disney merger. It is said to have been tested pretty badly in preview screenings, leading to new additions and retooling behind the scenes. After the Disney / Fox deal was finalized, Disney decided to sell it to Netflix instead of taking the risk and getting it out in theaters. It had previously hit theaters in May last year after previously delayed. Safe to say this one had a rocky road to release. Especially for a film with so much prestigious talent.

The woman in the window revolves around Anna Fox (Amy Adams). She is an agoraphobic child psychologist who keeps an eye on a seemingly idealistic family across the street through the windows of her New York apartment. Her life is turned upside down when she accidentally witnesses a brutal crime. It is based on Daniel Mallory’s bestseller and was adapted for the big screen by Tracy Letts. The cast also includes Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Fred Hechinger, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Julianne Moore.

That’s just a brick in the wall for Netflix in 2021. The streaming service has an avalanche of original films in store this year, with more than 70 expected in total. The company has promised at least one new film a week. Some of the big titles still on deck include Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Dwayne Johnson’s Red Notice, and Adam McKays Don’t Look Up. The woman in the window is expected to arrive on the Netflix streaming service on May 14th. Convince yourself of the new trailer.
