TV’s Largest Turkeys: Attend 35 of the Shortest Reveals of All Time

There’s no doubt going to be a strange Thanksgiving year this year, but rest assured we have tons of turkeys for everyone.

Because for this Turkey Day, TVLine has revamped our roundup of the shortest shows of all time, filling it with White Castle sliders, some reader suggestions, as well as a UK sitcom you didn’t see on our original list.

Yes, there have been tons of one-season wonders on television (detailed here) – but these shows are veritable warhorses compared to the less fortunate ones who got the hook almost immediately after their debut (and sometimes even before).

In the attached gallery, TVLine looks back on 35 of the most notorious TV flames – some of them were popular (Lone Star, we barely knew you), others … not so much.

Some of these shows have had the misfortune (or the blessing, depending on how you see it) of being drawn after just a single broadcast. (Take, for example, when ABC seemed to have a handy answer to Emily’s reasons why not. Or when Swamp Thing went to sleep with the fish.)

Others have since been picked up for series just to never make it into the air. This includes The Coach Revive, a spin-off from Cruel Intentions starring Amy Adams and Joel McHale’s shut-down IT crowd remake.

But all of these ill-fated shows have one thing in common: none of their original runs made it after five episodes.
