University of Kentucky basketball star Terrence Clarke, dead at 19 years old

Basketball Outstanding at the University of Kentucky Terrence Clarke died at the age of 19.

The shooter, who had just finished his first season with the Wildcats, died Thursday, April 22nd, after a car accident in the Los Angeles area. A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division confirmed this to E! News.

According to the LAPD, Terrence was the only person in his car and had driven a red light while driving at high speed on the afternoon of April 22nd. His vehicle hit a street lamp post before hitting a wall, and the student-athlete was pronounced dead at Northridge Hospital, the spokesman continued.

“I’m absolutely disappointed and sick tonight,” said the Kentucky head coach John Calipari said in part about a statement posted on social media. “A young person we all love just lost his life too soon, one with all his dreams and hopes ahead of him.
